Zaxxon is an arcade shooter developed by Sega, along with assistance from Ikegami Tsushinki. When it was first released, Zaxxon's isometric projection was considered ground-breaking and original, giving players the sense that they were playing in 3-D.

Developed by Sega, the game is a space shooter viewed from an isometric perspective. This perspective made the game stand out from other space shooters of the era, as most at the time were strictly either top-down shooters or side-scrollers.
