Overview

Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure is a point-and-click adventure game that is variously classified as an interactive movie or visual novel. Designed and directed by Haruhiko Shono, it is a spiritual successor to Alice: An Interactive Museum (1991) and L-Zone (1992). Like its predecessors, Gadget uses pre-rendered 3D graphics, like Myst (1993).

Legacy

Gadget's influence extended beyond video games and impacted cinema. It influenced visionary filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro as well as Alex Proyas' Dark City (1998) and the Wachowskis' The Matrix (1999).
