TV Sports Basketball

Overview

TV Sports Basketball is a game in Cinemaware's TV Sports series, which recreates various sports as if they were being broadcasted on television. The camera switches depending on which end of the court the player is in, changing the view so that it faces the hoop. While the ball is in the middle of the court, the game switches to a side view.

First version released in 1990 included accurate teams and player names based on the 1990/1991 NBA season. In the version released later on real teams were replaced with fictional ones, just like the other games in the TV Sports series. The fictional teams featured include: The Outlaws, the Ninjas, the Pirates and the Snipers in the West division, and the Wizards, the Shadows, the Giants and the Zombies in the East division.

Game also includes integrated player editor. This allows the player to modify teams and players and completely redesign the league.

TV Sports Basketball was released for the PC, Amiga and TurboGrafx-16. Cinemaware eventually released the PC version as freeware.
