Star Wars Battlefront II

EA's second Star Wars Battlefront features cross-era characters and locations from the original, prequel and sequel Star Wars movie trilogies. It also includes multiplayer character classes and a story-driven single-player campaign.

Overview

From early on, in marketing this sequel to 2015's reboot of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise, EA were eager to show off the game's more elaborate, large-scale battles featuring both foot soldiers and vehicles. However, the game came under severe criticism in the run-up to its launch for implementing loot boxes and microtransactions in a manner that much of its audience felt was unreasonable. In response to this, EA removed in-app purchases from the game and lawmakers in some parts of the world were prompted to consider regulation for video game loot boxes. On April 28 2020 it was announced that live support would end, after two and a half years of updates.

The story campaign takes place after Episode VI and before Episode VII and showcases Iden Versio, leader of the Inferno Squad of the Galactic Empire.
