Half-Life: Alyx is a VR-only sci-fi first-person shooter developed and published digitally by Valve for the PC on March 23, 2020.

A spin-off of the Half-Life series and the first large-scale VR game from Valve (who previously used the technology on SteamVR, The Lab, and Dota 2), Alyx serves as a prequel to Half-Life 2 and puts players in control of resistance fighter Alyx Vance five years prior to Gordon Freeman's arrival at City 17 (as she works to rescue her father from Combine forces).

Although the game is in VR, it shares many elements from the series' main installments, including first-person exploration, puzzle solving, and weapon combat, as well as the traditional linear progression. In addition to her trusty multi-tool, Alyx has access to unique "gravity gloves", allowing her to manipulate the environment similar to the "Gravity Gun" from the main game.
