Usagi: Yasei no Touhai - Yamashiro Mahjong-hen

A sequel to the riichi mahjong arcade game adaptation of the mahjong manga Usagi: Yasei no Touhai.

Overview

Usagi: Yasei no Touhai - Yamashiro Mahjong-hen, loosely translated to "Rabbit: Fighting Tiles of the Wild - Yamashiro Mahjong Edition", is a riichi mahjong game developed by Warashi (along with Mahjong Kobo) and released by Taito for arcades (using Dreamcast-based Sega NAOMI hardware) exclusively in Japan in 2003.

The sequel to the arcade game Usagi: Yasei no Touhai, Yamashiro Mahjong-hen updates the character roster while adding new visuals and story elements.

Like the game's predecessor, Yamashiro Mahjong-hen received two ports for the PlayStation 2:

  • The first one, released by Sammy on November 27, 2003 under the title Usagi: Yasei no Touhai - Yamashiro Mahjong-hen, is based on the original PS2 port of Usagi: Yasei no Touhai. It features a new Story Mode chronicling more of the original manga.
  • The second one, released by Taito on September 16, 2004 under the title Usagi: Yasei no Touhai - The Arcade - Yamashiro Mahjong-hen, is a straight port of the arcade game.
