Dracula Unleashed is a horror-themed historical-fantasy point-and-click adventure game developed by ICOM Simulations and published by Viacom New Media for the Sega CD, PC, and Mac throughout 1993.
From the studio behind Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, Dracula Unleashed is based on the 1897 Bram Stoker novel Dracula and tells an original story set ten years after the novel. Players assume the role of Alexander Morris, a Texan businessman who travels to London, England during the winter of 1899 to investigate events surrounding the death of his brother Quincey, only to eventually uncover the original confrontation against the vampire Count Dracula and the possibility of Dracula's return.
The game makes heavy use of full-motion video cutscenes and voice acting, with much of the gameplay involving navigating various parts of the city and acquiring clues and information from video cutscenes (similar to the studio's Sherlock Holmes games). However, players must manage both their time and inventory, as entering locations with different items in hand, or at different times of day, can trigger different sequences (with certain pivotal scenes missable, causing unwinnable states or less-optimal endings).
The game later received a DVD-Video game release by Infinite Ventures on December 12, 2002, using higher-definition video and an updated user interface.
