Railfan

A collaboration between the studios behind the Train Simulator and Densha de Go! series puts players in the cab of three trains in three rail lines (one in Tokyo, one linking Kyoto and Osaka, and one in Chicago) using real-life full-HD footage to simulate driving the trains.

Railfan is a train driving simulation game developed by Ongakukan (along with Taito) and published by Ongakukan for the PlayStation 3 in Japan and other Asian regions on December 20, 2006.

The 28th installment of the Train Simulator series and the second collaborative title with the Taito studio behind the Densha de Go! series (after Train Simulator + Densha de Go!), Railfan brings the series to the PS3 while including full-motion video in full HD and revamping the interface (allowing for fullscreen video and views from outside the train). It follows three routes:

The game later received one sequel under the Railfan name, titled Railfan: Taiwan High Speed Rail.

Modes

There are several game modes including:

Mission mode - A tutorial of using each train variation.

Train Tour - The player chooses the start and finish stations on a section of the line.
