Pokémon Shuffle

A Pokémon-themed free-to-play match three game for Nintendo 3DS. The game was also released on iOS and Android as "Pokémon Shuffle Mobile".

Pokémon Shuffle is a free-to-play match three game available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It features a selection from all 720 Pokemon, and even allows for certain ones to Mega Evolve. It was developed by Genius Sonority and published by The Pokemon Company.

Pokémon Shuffle is a match three puzzle game heavily inspired by Pokémon Trozei and Puzzle and Dragons. Unlike Pokemon Trozei, however, once you have moved a Pokemon, you cannot move again until the turn has ended.

The basic premise of the game is battling other Pokémon, to which you attack by matching three or more Pokémon in a row. Once three Pokémon have been matched, they disappear, and an attack combo begins. Depending on the typing that leads the combo, and the amount of combos done, damage will be dealt to the opposing Pokemon. At the end of stages when Pokémon are defeated, you will have a chance to catch that Pokémon. The more moves you have left over at the end, the higher the catch rate will be for that Pokémon. If the Pokéball fails to catch the Pokémon, players can use coins earned through completing stages to use stronger Pokéballs such as Great Balls and Ultra Balls.

As you complete stages, Pokémon set in your party will level up and occasionally evolve. Certain Pokemon are also capable of Mega Evolution. You can get Mega Stones once every 10 levels after trainer battles.

The game runs on a stamina or energy system like many other free-to-play titles. You have a certain number of hearts that are used up when you start a battle, and once those hearts run out, you will have to wait a set amount of time for them to regenerate. If you wish, however, you can purchase hearts from an in game shop using Jewels. Jewels are rare and can be found through normal gameplay, or acquired from the e-Shop using real world money.
