Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

A spin-off of the Yakuza series which takes place in the world of Fist of the North Star.

Overview

Hokotu ga Gotoku is an original game based in the world of Tetsuo Hara's manga series Hokotu No Ken (Fist of the North Star) developed by Sega's Ryu ga Gotoku Studio. The combat is designed to mix elements of both the Yakuza series' Heat-based mechanics and Hokuto Shinken's martial arts style.

Despite being released after Yakuza 6, the game uses a version of the engine from Yakuza 5 instead of the updated Dragon engine embedded in 6. Toshihiro Nagoshi, the studio director, explained that the game uses an older engine due to having a dev team composed of newer staff and wanting a less-realistic look that would be harder to work with the newer Dragon engine.

Plot

After tracking down the evil Shin who stole his girlfriend and left him for dead, Kenshiro wanders around the desert for clues as to where his beloved Yuria went. His travels eventually take him to the city of Eden, a rare self-sustaining paradise in the desert fueled by a giant dome-shaped relic known as Sphere City. However, the city is reluctant to let any outsiders in, including Kenshiro. Kenshiro must find a way into the city and discover if Yuria is still alive.
