Battlefield 2042 is the seventeenth installment of DICE and Electronic Arts's military shooter franchise. Released on November 19, 2021, this version of Battlefield is the first to be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, which allows for 128-player online multiplayer and cross platform play between both consoles and PC. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions feature a max of 64-player.
