Super Xevious: GAMP no Nazou

Super Xevious: GAMP no Nazo (The Mystery of GAMP) is a Famicom-exclusive sequel to Xevious. It was developed and published by Namco. Despite its similar name, the game is neither a conversion nor an update to the arcade release known as Super Xevious.

Overview

Super Xevious: GAMP no Nazo was the largest Famicom game developed by Namco up to the point of its release, with a combined 160 kilobytes of ROM. This was made possible by the use of Namco's internally developed mapper technology. GAMP no Nazo was also the debut point for Namco's new packaging and trade dress for Famicom games, abandoning its paperboard sleeves and bespoke numbering system on the top right corner for clamshell cases.
