Overview
KOF: Maximum Impact Regulation "A" (also known as The King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Regulation "A") is a 3D fighting game developed and released by SNK Playmore for arcades (running PC-based Taito Type X² hardware) exclusively in Japan on July 14, 2007. It also received a PlayStation 2 port exclusively in Japan on July 26, 2007.
The sequel to KOF: Maximum Impact 2, Regulation "A" brings the sub-series to arcades while adding the traditional King of Fighters 3-on-3 gameplay, all characters from Maximum Impact 2 unlockable from the start, four new characters, and more balance adjustments.
It is the last entry in the sub-series to be released and the only entry in the series to not be released outside of Japan. It is also known for its inclusion of Makoto Mizoguchi from Data East's Fighter's History series as a cross-promotion with G-Mode for their mobile beat-'em-up Garou Densetsu vs. Fighter's History Dynamite.
