Overview

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is a free-to-play massively-multiplayer sci-fi dark-fantasy third-person shooter developed and released digitally by Behaviour for the PC on September 23, 2016. It was originally released in Steam Early Access on January 26, 2016.

Set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Eternal Crusade puts players into team-based conflicts as one of four factions fighting for control of the planet of Arkhona: Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar. While not a traditional MMORPG, the game features a persistent online "campaign" (similar to the Faction War system in For Honor), where each faction fights for territorial control over their conflicts on the planet. In additional to 60-player PVP matches, the game includes five-player PVE dungeons (where the enemies are hordes of Tyranids).

Each of the four factions have their own unique classes, weaponry, and vehicles, and players can unlock and customize their character's appearance and arsenal. As the game is free-to-play, players can unlock new gear with microtransactions and paid DLC.
